[The Woodlands, TX] – The press and public are invited to the grand opening of Code Ninjas on SATURDAY, June 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for an introduction to The Woodlands’ first coding center for kids, ages 7-14 years.
The event will take place at 4747 Research Forest Dr., Suite 195. Guests will be treated to a tour of the center and kids will get to try the program for free. The new franchise teaches children to code video games, build and code robots and drones and teaches them how to build apps.
“We are excited to see this finally being offered to our kids as an after-school activity. Having four kids of our own, we know this is a valuable skill set for them to have once they graduate.” said Owners, Gina and Matt Hyman. “The job market is getting more competitive and technology based. Kids graduating this program, that pursue coding further, will have an edge.”
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic projects computer occupations alone will increase by 12.5 percent between 2014 and 2024 and produce half a million new jobs, more than any other science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) occupations, according to a 2017 report.
The center will offer one-hour drop-in learning, twice per week for enrolled students. Hours are 2 p.m. to 7p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Half day summer camps will run twice a day during the summer.
Owners Gina and Matt Hyman, both residents of The Woodlands said, “It’s our job as parents to see beyond what our kids can. It is our hope to build a community of children that HAVE FUN preparing for their future.”
